About Ida

Established in Melbourne, Australia in 2021, Ida is the lovechild of Joy, Sameiko and Jessica, a trio connected through family and deep friendship. 

For far too long, they also shared a desire to find the perfect stylish, reliable, forever-use shopping bag. 

Before now, Joy had experienced one too many “just made it” moments with bag handles hanging on by their last thread. 

Sameiko was ashamed to admit how many times she’d had to buy a new reusable at the checkout, knowing full-well how many were already stuffed beside her fridge at home.

Jessica was just questioning why she was still toting a fluoro green number to the gym. 

So after years of unsuccessful searches for a stylish, convenient solution, and with a passion for contributing to a more sustainable future, they decided to just create their own. 

In the process, head product guru, Joy, was inspired by her Grandmother, Ida – a sassy individual who exuded class and knew the value of a true friend. So when Joy, Sameiko and Jessica decided to create the ultimate long-lasting, dependable fashion accessory, the name was never in question.
